These days, controllers are integrated into virtually all automation products, including actuators and sensors in Zeppelin plants; in future, such controllers will also control and monitor all Zeppelin in-house developments in the areas of components, generator sets and machines. The controller is responsible for enabling machines to become “intelligent”, thereby meeting the demands of Industry 4.0. At Zeppelin, controllers are directly combined with appropriate hardware products, having been individualized to suit the relevant area of application. Their task is controlling work processes, and because they are continually being developed, new functions for optimizing or expanding processes are always emerging – and the assignment of a controller, for example, can be modified to suit requirements, simply by means of a software update. The controllers have a modular design and offer outstanding speed, security and ease of use.
